About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Laboratory Manager to join our Residue Analytical Services team at Labcorp.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our laboratories, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of laboratory technicians and providing guidance and support as needed;
  • Setting up and performing various studies using appropriate instrumentation, including developing and implementing new protocols as required;
  • Critically reviewing study protocols and suggesting changes to improve efficiency and accuracy;
  • Providing input and participating in study meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned;
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all studies, including results and any issues encountered;
  • Delivering results within agreed timeframes, meeting or exceeding expectations;
  • Developing, writing, reviewing, and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Conducting processes and tasks in support of study types, including sample preparation and data analysis;
  • Participating in quality control (QC) review of selected routine data and validation projects, identifying areas for improvement;
  • Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations;
  • Line management responsibility, mentoring, and developing laboratory team members, including training needs assessment and development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of A-levels or equivalent qualification;
  • Supervisory experience within a laboratory setting, preferably working to regulatory standards;
  • Previous experience of Residue Analytical services is essential, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
