About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Sunderland. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Support students with SEN in their learning and personal development, providing tailored assistance and promoting their confidence and independence.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt resources as needed to ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to enhance student outcomes and contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to assessments, providing valuable insights into student development.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom setting, with a focus on supporting students with SEN.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a strong understanding of SEN practices, interventions, and resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners, with a focus on promoting inclusivity and equality.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
