Job Summary

Facilities Maintenance Engineer

Undisclosed is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of our facilities. The successful candidate will oversee daily functions, manage repairs, and optimize resource use to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding Maintenance
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural integrity.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Schedule routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
Equipment Management
  • Ensure all essential equipment is operational.
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and arrange for necessary replacements or upgrades.
Health & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimise workplace hazards.
Vendor and Contractor Management
  • Manage relationships with external contractors for cleaning, security, and repairs.
  • Supervise on-site contractors to ensure work meets required standards.
Budgeting and Cost Control
  • Assist in managing the facilities budget to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Track expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Space Management
  • Oversee the allocation of space within the building, coordinating with department heads on workspace needs.
Emergency Response
  • Develop emergency response procedures and coordinate drills.
  • Act as the primary contact for facility-related emergencies.
Requirements

Essential qualifications include a proven experience in building maintenance or facilities management, electrical apprenticeship or equivalent with at least 5 years of commercial experience, and knowledge of health and safety regulations and building codes.

Desirable qualifications include strong project management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a full clean driving license.
