About the Job

We're looking for a Day Rate Quantity Surveying Professional to join our team in Essex. As a key member of our construction team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the financial and commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring effective delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience managing construction projects, and a solid understanding of industry standards, methods, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the financial and commercial management of construction contracts, ensuring effective delivery and adherence to legislative and contractual obligations.
  • Provide proactive financial support to delivery teams, processing monthly valuations, applications, forecasts, and variations.
  • Ensure accurate administration of contracts in line with relevant legal frameworks.
  • Develop and implement timely financial forecasting and reporting, covering costs, sales, gross profit, and risk associated with assigned projects.
  • Monitor and mitigate potential risks, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and maintaining a secure business environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, data, and systems in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster excellent client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional revenue and margin growth, and contract retention.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Deliver studies to estimate material, time, and labor costs pre- and post-contract, as needed.
  • Collaborate with estimating teams to achieve robust prime costs and seamless transitions through contract stages, including client meetings and site visits.
  • Analyze and address commercial risks, developing strategic responses to optimize project outcomes.
  • Close out additional work opportunities within the month of completion.
  • Effectively manage quantity surveying teams, allocating resources to contracts as needed.
  • Negotiate supply chain and sub-contractor engagement contracts from inception to practical completion and retention release.
  • Identify and capitalize on change requirements to maximize revenue and minimize risk.
  • Communicate contract commercial and financial performance according to company KPI protocols.
  • Oversee financial application, job costing, and forecasting updates for contract sales.
  • Possess a CSCS card relevant to the role.
  • Exhibit leadership and management style aligned with ZipRecruiter's brand image.
  • Showcase analytical expertise and familiarity with Document Management Systems, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Asta Powerproject, Excel, Anaplan, or similar/equivalent software.
  • Minimum three years' experience managing construction projects.
  • Maintain industry knowledge, staying updated on construction and engineering requirements, methods, and standards.
  • Holding a driving license.

Salary Estimate: £70,000 - £90,000 per year.
