Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team at Andrews Recruitment Group. As an Asphalt Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment, ensuring high-quality asphalt production while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

Daily Tasks

The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical maintenance or training completed, along with advanced skills in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Additionally, they should possess a sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation, and a focus on improving the business.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) expectations and customer quality expectations.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment including power and control wiring, motors, controls, electronic devices, PLC's and building electrical maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots PLC and other electronic systems. Able to troubleshoot and program machine logic systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, parts manuals, blueprints, sketches, hydraulic diagrams, and machine manuals.
  • Evaluate production report comments prior to performing maintenance to ensure all causes for production inefficiencies are addressed and corrected.
  • Perform building maintenance as directed by Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain sufficient records to support the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (EAM) including work orders and parts management.
  • Responsible for active participation on plant teams and activities including safety, quality, sustainability, community involvement, OEE, maintenance, employee wellness, brainstorming and continuous improvement which are required to create and maintain a World Class environment.
Requirements
  • A sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self-motivation, and the desire and focus to improve the business.
  • Qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with Mechanical Maintenance or training completed.
  • Experience with advanced skills in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.

This role offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, plus bonus, annual pay reviews, 22 days holiday + bank holidays (with options to increase), and other benefits recognising your contribution.
