The Role:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing production documentation and inspecting the quality of production equipment. You will oversee the non-conformance and change management process across the production cycle, from the machine shop to package assembly and testing. Your duties will include monitoring build processes and inspecting components throughout manufacturing, using contract-specific Inspection and Test Plans (I&TP).

You will also support instrumentation and equipment calibration activities, conduct inspections and assessments, including using Faro 3D CMM measuring equipment, and inspect painted components, including checks on paint adhesion, thickness, and quality. Additionally, you will assess the quality of welds using visual and basic measuring equipment and report on non-conformances to specifications and drawings. Finally, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.

Requirements:

A HNC/D or City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, or demonstrable industry experience. Experience in Quality Inspection within a manufacturing or engineering environment, including Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm CMM. Knowledge and understanding of various manufacturing processes and the ability to evaluate and solve problems. The ability to interpret engineering drawings, certification, client specifications, and standards (API, ISO, PED, etc.). Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workloads and handle competing priorities. Excellent communication skills to establish effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
