Vision for Education - Cardiff is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a local primary school in Roath, Cardiff.



Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide support to the class teacher in helping pupils learn, engage and get the most out of their learning in school. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with excellent opportunities for professional development and personal growth.



Responsibilities

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for:




  • Assisting the class teacher with daily routines and activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Working with small groups of pupils, offering additional support for reading and writing activities
  • Supporting pupils with learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis
  • Fostering the development of social and emotional skills in young learners
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons and learning resources
  • Assisting with monitoring and recording pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher where necessary
  • Upholding the school's policies and values, ensuring the well-being and safety of all pupils


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • A DBS registered with the update service
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register
  • At least 2 references
  • A willingness to complete safeguarding and other CPD courses
  • A passion for education and a desire to create a positive learning environment for children
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Reliability and consistency as a member of staff
