About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to join our team at androiddevs - Jobboard. As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality mobile applications for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Feature and App Development: You will be part of a feature and app development team, working on concept through to production, utilizing technical skills for app development.
  • Technical Leadership: You will proactively bring formed decisions to Senior members of the team to reinforce their ideas and ensure they are on the right track.
  • Collaboration and Communication: You will actively foster collaboration with peers in the team in the interest of quality and efficiency, working collaboratively with Engineering colleagues and leads to meet sprint goals.
  • Product Ownership: You will collaborate with product owners to ensure that expectations are managed, delivering as required within the specified timelines.
  • Task Prioritization: You will ensure tasks are prioritized correctly by making data-led decisions.
  • Knowledge Sharing: You will assist POs/BAs in refining stories to ensure that they meet the team's requirements, presenting on the work delivered within an iteration to key stakeholders, clearly demoing the business value in language that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
  • Continuous Improvement: You will be part of continuous improvement in the team, including quality, process, teamwork, but not limited to these things, through retrospectives and other appropriate channels.
  • Documentation: You will document solutions and projects to an appropriate level, including technical diagrams, associated links, and technical notes.
Requirements
  • Kotlin Experience: You will have good experience with Kotlin.
  • Mobile Testing: You will have good experience of mobile testing processes.
  • Platform Knowledge: You will have very good knowledge of one platform with knowledge of at least one other.
  • Branching Strategies: You will have good understanding and regular use of Branching Strategies.
  • Software Architecture: You will have understanding of Software Architecture principles, design patterns, and system design concepts.
  • Testing and Debugging: You will be capable of writing unit tests and creating test doubles.
  • UI/UX Principles: You will actively engage with all UI/UX principles.
  • Security: You will demonstrate good knowledge of avoiding single dependencies and consider security issues in your general approach to work.
Essential Criteria
  • Kotlin Experience: You will have good experience with Kotlin.
  • Mobile Solutions Delivery: You will have hands-on delivery of Mobile solutions according to the sprint backlog.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: You will have performed a suitable degree of testing against a given solution before delivery.
  • Issue Diagnosis: You will have performed issue diagnosis using external tools to find the root cause.
  • UI/UX Engagement: You will have actively engaged with UI/UX where there are contradictions to Human Interface Guidelines/Material Design.
  • Solution Design: You will have inputted towards the overarching solution design.
