Job Title: Precision Equipment Technician

Location: Bracknell.

Estimated Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum.

As a member of our Proactive Global team in Bracknell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the precise calibration and operation of our instruments. If you have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out defined procedures within our quality manual to guarantee accuracy and precision.
  2. Perform UKAS accredited calibrations under ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems.
  3. Generate calibration and test certificates for clients.
  4. Identify and resolve instrument faults, with some minor repairs.
  5. Interact with clients concerning instrument use, repair and replacement.
  6. Possibly showcase products to customers.
  7. Offer technical assistance to the internal sales department.
  8. Maintain a stock of instruments, client equipment and laboratory equipment to meet established criteria.
  9. In exceptional instances, visit clients' premises to install and retrieve rental equipment.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience in a calibration laboratory, ideally to ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 standards.
  • A minimum BTEC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong hands-on skills, including troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Numeracy and literacy skills for basic arithmetic and written tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software packages.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.
