About the Role
At Tesco, we're seeking a skilled Frontend Software Developer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing scalable frontend systems using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node. Your in-depth knowledge of frontend technologies will enable you to create high-quality, maintainable software that meets our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
  1. Designing and developing scalable frontend systems
  2. Profiling and optimizing code for improved performance
  3. Applying architectural principles to create well-structured software
  4. Identifying patterns in code and refactoring for maintainability
  5. Developing high-quality code that enables rapid delivery
  6. Committing code early and often, utilizing version control and branching strategies
  7. Automating processes for efficiency and security
  8. Writing maintainable code with attention to best practices
  9. Implementing project instrumentation and following best practices for testing, performance, and security
  10. Collaborating with product stakeholders to translate needs into product improvements
  11. Leading discussions on system design and working with product managers to drive value
  12. Supporting production systems, resolving incidents, and performing root cause analysis
  13. Debugging complex problems and maintaining software solutions
  14. Sharing knowledge with the engineering community and mentoring others
  15. Producing proof of concepts to evaluate new tools

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate with 5+ years of commercial experience as a Frontend Software Developer, with a passion for technology and a drive to deliver high-quality software. Your experience should include knowledge of best practices in web development, including design, semantic HTML, CSS, and related technologies. You should also be familiar with JavaScript frameworks, Node.js, and REST API endpoints. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of industry-standard web accessibility, design, and usability.
