Officers Mess Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Officers Mess Manager to join our team at Compass Group UK. As a key member of our Defence sector, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality food to meet the needs of our Defence clients
  • Supervise and manage a team of culinary and catering staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Oversee the management of inventories, budgets, and action plans to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction
  • Communicate regularly with line managers to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets
  • Represent Compass Group UK and maintain a positive brand image in the Defence sector
  • Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales and improve customer engagement
  • Liaise with customers and our culinary and service teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences
  • Support and train our teams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles
  • Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of catering experience, preferably in a similar role
  • Experience managing teams in a similar role, with a proven track record of success
  • NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, or equivalent qualifications
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ambitious and motivated individual, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
