Job Title: Principal Engineer - Metrology

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Metrology to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Calibration department, you will be responsible for leading the dimensional calibration team and ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the dimensional calibration team and ensure the accuracy and precision of measurement equipment
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Contribute to the development of new calibration techniques and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of calibration services
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in precision dimensional calibration and metrology
  • Strong understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND) or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
