About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Educator and Development Lead to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Practice Development team, you will play a vital role in developing high standards of practice and performance, as well as creating a comprehensive education program for our Neighbourhood Nursing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Education Lead and Service Leads in providing direction and leadership to implement the education, training, and development strategy for district nursing, community matrons, and in-patient rehabilitation units.
  • Develop and implement training programs for nurses to expand their clinical skills in accordance with the Trust's standards.
  • Work with the Practice Development team to contribute to standard setting for nursing practice and participate in the training of staff to monitor the quality of care delivered using clinical standards.
  • Be accountable for care given and comply with the NMC Code and other appropriate NMC guidance, working within the framework of the scope of professional practice.
  • Practice to meet the objectives of the Trust Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and take responsibility for own professional development and clinical update in conjunction with performance appraisal initiative at agreed intervals.
Requirements
  • NMC Level one Registered Nurse Adult.
  • Specialist professional knowledge of mentorship, education, and development practice.
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional, and academic development.
  • Post registration experience within a community setting.
  • Delivery of training sessions/programs.
  • Experience of supervising/assessing nurses and students in practice.
  • Experience of involvement in educational initiatives.
  • Experience of working with Internationally Educated Nurses.
