As a Human Resources Services Manager at NBT Bancorp Inc., you will oversee the management of the HR Shared Services Department to provide support for the Human Resources Benefits, Retirement, Payroll, Leave and Employment processes. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient and quality assistance to all service requests, acting as one of the HR Systems administrators and providing HRIS technical support to HR Partners to make the most effective use of systems and data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Shared Services operation, including development, implementation and maintenance of processes, procedures and systems.
- Manage the corporate payroll process and ensure accurate and timely payments to all employees within established laws and procedures.
- Directs the HR Shared Services staff for daily questions on Employee Relations, Benefits, Retirement and Employment processes and as necessary escalates to appropriate resources in accordance with organizational guidelines.
- Provide coaching and guidance to improve staff performance and capabilities and identify training needs; develop staff in technical and soft skills to deliver quality services.
- System administrator for Workday.
- Works with other areas of Human Resources to ensure self-service functionality is available and appropriate to streamline processes for Human Resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5-7 years of HR experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years payroll processing experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows products, specifically Excel and Word.
- Experience with Payroll systems and processes, Human Resource Information System and/or Database Management Software. Workday and ADP experience a plus.
- Project management, analytical skills, payroll, benefits and HRIS acumen.
- Possesses strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to work well across teams.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of Federal and State Wage & Labor Laws.
- Thorough understanding of payroll withholding/taxation requirements and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers.
- Stationary 75% of time or greater.
- Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs.
