Job Title: Academic Department Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Academic Department Manager. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing vital support to our management team, gaining a thorough understanding of how to deliver top-class customer service and motivate a team, whilst also learning about the hospitality business.

This role will give you all the necessary skills to run a department within the hotel. You will work alongside our hotel teams, with HIT Training looking after the academic side of your qualification. Please note there are no days at college for this apprenticeship.

During your apprenticeship with Brend Hotels, you will get hands-on experience within the hospitality industry as well as gain a nationally recognized qualification which you can take anywhere. You will also receive competitive pay above the Government apprenticeship standard, staff discounts at Brend Hotels, free meals on duty and paid holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop fantastic 'hospitality' skills across a variety of standards
  • Choose a hospitality specialism such as food and beverage, barista, wine service, reception or housekeeping
  • Gain an industry-recognized qualification to a national standard
  • Work as part of a team and develop interpersonal skills
  • Host and contribute confidently to meetings
  • Help train and mentor new starters
  • Manage team dynamics
