Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials required for projects are purchased correctly, meeting specification and to the agreed deadlines. This involves purchasing all materials required for the offices and works at Battle and installation sites, while managing costs. The Specialist will also be responsible for obtaining quotes for estimating and overseeing sub-contract procurement and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Approving new suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors
- Maintaining supplier/sub-contractor performance records
- Ensuring Chain of Custody requirements are met
- Keeping purchasing records that meet financial audit requirements, QHSE, and COC
- Reviewing project materials listings and reporting potential supply problems
- Assisting in reaching compromise decisions on project requirements
- Coordinating stock takes and working with external financial auditors
- Communicating with relevant parties and keeping records on supplier deliveries
- Minimizing waste and closing out non-stock items
- Creating and populating Excel control sheets for complex purchase items
- Researching, visiting, auditing, and recommending new suppliers and sub-contractors
The ideal candidate will have experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite and excellent prioritizing and filing skills. A background in procurement and logistics is essential, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
