Cygnet, a leading mental health provider, seeks an experienced Senior Psychiatrist to join our team in Chelmsford, Essex.

">Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated psychiatrist to lead our services at Cygnet Hospital Colchester. As a Senior Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist.

You will assess referrals, undertake mental state examinations of service users, participate in weekly ward rounds, and attend multidisciplinary meetings. Your excellent clinical decision-making skills and ability to manage risk will ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned.

Auditing medical services and ensuring compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines are also key aspects of this role. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to uphold policies and procedures and contribute to service governance and development.

About the Role

This is a full-time position based on our inpatient Rehabilitation services at Cygnet Colchester. The post holder will rotate wards in accordance with service needs, providing a valuable opportunity to gain experience across various subspecialties.

The aim of our services is assessment, stabilisation, treatment, and engagement, with a view to supporting service users in the least restrictive environment appropriate to their needs. Our recovery-focused approach aims to prepare individuals for a move to step-down services and ultimately back into the community wherever possible.
