Software Engineer

Barclays is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to accelerate the development of a new digital platform capability, driving innovation and modernization of our digital estate. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in building a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and improve software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, and stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
- Implement secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Develop effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
