Senior Financial Analyst

At Biffa Waste Services Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Organics sub-division within the R&E division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance and support to our business teams, ensuring robust financial controls and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analyses and bridges, for each selected business unit, meeting reporting deadlines and providing useful feedback on financial performance.
- Financial Reporting: Compile and distribute divisional monthly financial reporting packs, providing financial and non-financial staff with useful data and KPIs for sound commercial decision making and analysis.
- Weekly Flash Reporting: Prepare weekly flash reporting in month for respective business units/regions, commenting on key variances to forecast and actual performance at month end.
- Presentations and Communication: Present and explain monthly results to divisional FBP/FD and other senior personnel, enabling understanding of profitability.
- CAPEX Reporting: Design and develop monthly CAPEX reporting to ensure adherence to budget and data availability for change programmes/new business cases.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist FBPs and operations in preparing budgets, forecasts, and five-year plans for business units of responsibility, aiding accurate planning.
- New Business Bids: Support new business bids, pricing, and financial modelling as appropriate for respective business units/regions.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure controls are in place and being adhered to.
- End of Year Audit: Deal with end of year audit queries to support sign-off of year-end accounts.
- Accountancy Qualification: Qualified or studying towards an accountancy qualification.
- Management Accounting Experience: Management accounting experience ideally from the service, logistics, manufacturing, or waste industries.
- Operational and Commercial Support: Experience of working with and supporting operational, commercial staff across multiple locations.
- System Skills: Strong system skills including advanced Excel.
