We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our in-house Service Department at The Focusrite Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our high-quality music technology products.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and Maintenance: Evaluate and diagnose faults in our products, carry out repairs to a component level, and test devices to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Turnaround and Efficiency: Ensure effective turnaround of products through the department, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for repairs, taking into account parts and labor costs.
- Customer Support: Assist our customers and external service partners with remote diagnosis and repair advice, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance product reliability and efficiency.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate service documentation to support our Global Service Network.
- Workshop Operations: Carry out workshop operations such as unit transfers and booking in spare parts, ensuring seamless workflow and minimal downtime.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in electronics repair and servicing, with a strong background in fault-finding electrical systems.
- Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings and schematics, experience using test equipment such as signal analysers and oscilloscopes, and a polite and helpful phone and email manner.
- Personal Qualities: A positive attitude, enthusiastic outlook, collaborative personality, self-motivation, and ability to prioritize and manage own workload.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience with Windows and MacOS systems.
- Audio Electronics Experience: Experience with analogue and digital audio electronics, interest in music/audio, and experience with music technology products and digital audio workstations.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational and communication skills, with experience in spare part purchasing and sourcing obsolete parts.
