The organization empowers investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts, providing the richest and most comprehensive dataset on corporate and city action.

Job Purpose and Background

The Senior Manager, Data Governance will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of data governance policies and processes at CDP. This includes optimizing and automating data collection, handling, storage, and sharing across all data domains, ensuring transparency and effective data governance to improve quality, reduce risk, and deliver compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement scalable data governance processes to enhance data quality and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate with IT and project teams to develop effective data governance standards for enterprise-wide data management.
  • Work closely with Risk and Legal to assess information sharing agreements and third-party data access, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Oversee the Data Quality Dashboard to monitor errors and ensure proactive data quality improvement across CDP.
  • Monitor and enforce Role-Based Access Control, investigating and addressing access violations and incidents such as data breaches.
  • Motivate and lead a data governance culture that empowers staff to recognize the value of data governance in their teams and across the organization.
Requirements
  • Information management or data governance qualification or at least 3 years of applied experience working within an information or data governance setting.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading data governance projects or large activities with a comprehensive end-to-end delivery approach.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to work in an Agile, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
  • Experience deploying data governance tools to operationalize workflows and establish a common approach for monitoring and assuring data assets.
  • An understanding of data lifecycle and effective data governance best practices application across all phases of the lifecycle.
  • An understanding of relevant statutory frameworks applying to data governance.
  • Capable of delivering impactful data literacy training to empower staff to take actions and improve how data is managed.
  • Experience in process design and policy implementation.
  • Experience in data cataloguing, mapping, and business glossary development.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Experience in monitoring data for compliance and assurance within systems and databases.
