Technical Artist Opportunity at Marmalade Game Studio

We are seeking a skilled Technical Artist to join our team at Marmalade Game Studio. As a Technical Artist, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality game projects on various platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Tool Development: Write tools and scripts in Unity, 3D applications, and standalone environments to streamline our workflow.
  2. Mentorship: Work closely with art team members to help them develop their technical art skills and advance their careers.
  3. Pipeline Management: Maintain and improve our 2D and 3D pipelines across multiple studios and projects, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  4. Asset Management: Develop and maintain a multi-package pipeline for 3D development, enabling seamless asset exchange between Maya, Blender, and Unity.
  5. Shader Development: Create, optimize, and maintain a library of Unity shaders for use across all projects, collaborating with engineers and artists to ensure optimal performance.
  6. Problem-Solving: Utilize your technical expertise to resolve artistic challenges and develop creative solutions.
  7. Scripting: Excel in scripting languages such as MEL, Python, and C# for Maya, Blender, and Unity.
  8. Industry Experience: Bring your experience in the mobile gaming space and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously to our team.
  9. Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest art and tech trends in the gaming industry and champion the adoption of cutting-edge processes within our studio.
  10. Essential Qualifications: Possess games industry experience and a background in full-cycle shipped products, as well as familiarity with common 2D and 3D packages and source control software.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Technical Art Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Technical Art role with multiple shipped titles.
  2. Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in programming languages, particularly C++.
  3. Rigging and Animation: Experience in rigging and animation.
