We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Victoria Gardens, a specialist locked rehabilitation service for individuals with complex mental health needs.
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs to prepare meals, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and assisting with deliveries.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including nursing, consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers, to provide high-quality care to our service users.
Key Responsibilities- Assist catering staff with meal preparation and cooking in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Serve food and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
- Ensure all areas, equipment, and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
- Contribute to maintaining operational hygiene standards and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the wider team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.
- Relevant catering qualification (desirable).
- Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
- Experience of working in a similar role.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Hourly rate of £13.50 (including 12.07% holiday allowance uplift).
- Two-week paid induction.
