About the Job

As a Consultant Haematologist in our Transformation Unit, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our non-malignant haematology service. You will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of clinics, including non-malignant haematology, red cells, and general haematology, and participate in a non-malignant haematology on-call rota on a 1 in 5 basis.

Working with Our Team

You will join a team of experienced healthcare professionals, including 5 consultants and 1 associate specialist haematologists, who are dedicated to providing excellent patient care and outcomes. We work closely with local haemoglobinopathy coordinating centres in Leicester and Birmingham to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing senior medical leadership for our non-malignant clinical and laboratory services
  • Participating in educational activities, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and leadership positions

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Full and Specialist Registration (and a Licence to Practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • UK-trained applicants must also hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of awarding CCT by the interview date
  • An interest and experience in non-malignant haematology, including red cells
  • GCP training

Benefits and Salary

The salary for this position is estimated to be between £90,000 and £110,000 per annum, paid on a pro rata basis for part-time workers. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including opportunities for professional development and growth.
