About Our Client

Michael Page (UK) is seeking an experienced Treasury Accountant to join their team in a City of London office.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy of local books and records prior to global consolidation, including booking adjusting journal entries.
  2. External Relationships: Oversee relationships with 3rd party accounting and tax service providers to complete financial statements, VAT returns, and other statutory filings.
  3. Accounts Payable: Manage the accounts payable process for foreign jurisdictions, ensuring timely payment of vendors and integrity of internal controls.
  4. Audit Support: Liaise with external auditors to fulfill audit requests in a timely manner.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Provide support for a FCA-registered UK entity, including reporting for regulatory and statutory filings.
  6. Expense Reporting: Review employee expense reports to ensure compliance with firmwide policies.
  7. Tax Compliance: Provide the Tax Department with quarterly and annual reporting for tax compliance.
  8. Close Process: Assist with the monthly/quarterly close process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  9. Treasury Support: Support the Treasury Department with KYC requests related to opening new bank accounts.
  10. Fixed Assets: Monitor and reconcile fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions.
  11. Special Projects: Participate in various special projects as required.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Ideally someone who has seen both corporate/in-house financial services and public accounting/Big 4 or Practice within the UK.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Chartered Accountant a plus.
  3. Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with an ability to mine, organize and synthesize large volumes of data and provide meaningful reporting.
  4. Soft Skills: Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  5. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation quality deliverables.
  6. ERP Experience: Experience working with an ERP/general ledger system.
