Research Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join our team at the University of Cambridge.

About the Role: The successful candidate will work as part of the Centre for Landscape Regeneration (CLR), a flagship research programme that aims to provide knowledge and tools for regenerating the British countryside using cost-effective nature-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop machine-learning based approaches to advance the core objectives of the project.
  • Lead the research to identify optimal land management solutions for delivering food production, nature conservation, and greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
  • Utilise machine learning techniques to model objective functions and infer optimal solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive climate change risk assessments and develop multi-fidelity approaches to synthesise different data sources.

Requirements: Eligible candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline, with a background in machine learning applied in an environmental science domain.

Working Arrangements: The successful candidate will be based in Cambridge and will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of departmental and University activities.
