About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiology Consultant to join our team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. As a key member of our cardiology department, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including echocardiography and device management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive cardiology services, including echocardiography, device management, and inpatient care.
  • Support the development of a robust multidisciplinary team (MDT) oversight regime to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with nursing and administration teams to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Contribute to the expansion of our echocardiography and devices service through outpatient clinics, MDTs, inpatient reviews, and cath lab activity.
  • Participate in regular cardiology MDT meetings to discuss patient care and share best practices.
  • Support undergraduate teaching and educational supervision.
Requirements
  • Higher degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in UK healthcare, with a strong background in cardiology and echocardiography.
  • British Society of Echocardiography or equivalent accreditation.
  • Sub-specialty expertise in echocardiography, including independent operator status in advanced echocardiography (TOE and stress echo).
  • Experience in service transformation and clinical leadership.
