Personal Assistant for Young Individual with Autism

About the Role
We are seeking a Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old boy with high functioning Autism in various settings, including at home and in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany the individual when out and about, supporting their interaction and independence
- Undertake activities that the individual enjoys, such as using an iPad, traveling on buses, and visiting the park
- Ensure the individual's safety at all times, using intervention strategies as needed
- Encourage the individual's communication and social skills, using calm and patient approaches
Requirements
- Experience of working with individuals with Autism and challenging behavior, either personally or professionally
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Driver's license and own vehicle with business class insurance
- Flexibility to work 3 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours
