Salary and Benefits

Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to join our Financial Management team as an AAT Accounts Assistant apprentice. The successful candidate will work closely with the Directorate Accountant to produce the monthly financial statement, ensuring that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines. This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities
* Assist in the production of the monthly financial statement* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records* Provide financial information and analysis to budget holders and senior finance staff* Respond to queries from Directorate and Departmental Managers* Provide supervisory support to Band 3 and Band 2 colleagues

Qualifications and Experience
* Accounting Technician status or equivalent experience* Microsoft Office Qualification or equivalent experience* Good level of education in a numerate subject* Detailed understanding of accounting procedures* Previous NHS Finance experience* Experience in a Finance Department* Knowledge of NHS and non-NHS legislation and how it affects own area of work* Knowledge of Management Accounting procedures and techniques including variance analysis* Good working knowledge of financial and non-financial computer systems
