The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK to provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are currently looking for SEN Tutors who have experience supporting children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech and Language Difficulties (SALT). Some of the students we provide support for are non-verbal and rely on prompts from an adult.

Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must have sufficient complex needs experience and have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position Details:

Position: SEN Tutor

Hours: 10 hours a week (during the school day)

Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• SEN and SALT experience

• Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

• UK classroom teaching experience

• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box

To be eligible for this role, the potential SEN Tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

• Provide two professional child-related references
