Job Title: Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and support to James, a 10-year-old boy with complex needs.

About James

James has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, and is visually impaired. He requires all his care needs met and uses a PEG for his fluids and a wheelchair for mobility. He is unable to regulate his temperature, which can cause him to have seizures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support James with getting up and dressed in the mornings, ready for school
  • Assist with changing and eating his dinner, bathing or showering, and taking his medication
  • Support James during his hydrotherapy sessions on a 2:1 care basis and during other activities
  • Assist with chores around the family home
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children with special needs and complex medical needs
  • Ability to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided)
  • Confident and comfortable working in James' own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family
  • Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting James' needs
  • Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
