We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and support to James, a 10-year-old boy with complex needs.
About JamesJames has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, and is visually impaired. He requires all his care needs met and uses a PEG for his fluids and a wheelchair for mobility. He is unable to regulate his temperature, which can cause him to have seizures.
Key Responsibilities- Support James with getting up and dressed in the mornings, ready for school
- Assist with changing and eating his dinner, bathing or showering, and taking his medication
- Support James during his hydrotherapy sessions on a 2:1 care basis and during other activities
- Assist with chores around the family home
- Experience of working with children with special needs and complex medical needs
- Ability to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided)
- Confident and comfortable working in James' own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family
- Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting James' needs
- Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
