Occupational Health Specialist

This is a full-time role available immediately on a permanent basis at the University of Exeter. The successful candidate will provide occupational health advice and guidance to support managers and staff at both the Exeter and Cornwall campuses.
About the RoleThe University of Exeter is seeking an experienced occupational health professional to join our team. As an Occupational Health Adviser, you will play a key role in providing expert advice and guidance to support the health and wellbeing of our employees. You will work closely with managers and staff to identify and manage health risks, provide health surveillance, and develop strategies to promote a positive and inclusive working environment.
Main Responsibilities- Provide occupational health advice and guidance to managers and staff
- Conduct health surveillance and provide recommendations for health and safety improvements
- Develop and implement strategies to promote employee health and wellbeing
- Work closely with managers and staff to identify and manage health risks
- Provide health and safety training and education to employees
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a positive and inclusive working environment
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree-level qualification in occupational health nursing or a related field
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) in Occupational Health
- Experience of working in occupational health or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
