Job Title: Land Acquisition Specialist - Scotland
Location: Scotland (Remote with Travel, full or part-time)
We are seeking an experienced Land Acquisition Specialist to lead efforts in securing land for new production sites in Scotland. This role is crucial to ensuring the ongoing growth and development of our operations by identifying, negotiating, and securing land that aligns with our strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure freehold rights to land that meets our operational requirements for production in Scotland.
- Develop and implement strategies to proactively identify and secure on- and off-market land opportunities.
- Negotiate favourable Option and Purchase agreements to secure land that aligns with budgetary and financial objectives.
- Provide appraisals on target sites, assessing suitability for production needs, town planning, environmental permits, and budget compliance.
- Build a pipeline of land options to meet short, medium, and long-term business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive network of contacts, including landowners, agents, local government, lawyers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and management reports on progress, timelines, and performance against targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to submit and secure the necessary planning and environmental consents.
- Manage and maintain land and property assets acquired but not immediately required for operations, including leasing, licensing, and maintenance activities.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in land acquisition and management, ideally within the agricultural or rural sector.
- A strong network within the Scottish rural land sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the land market in Scotland and the acquisition process, including option agreements, planning, and environmental permitting.
- A degree in land or estate management (or similar) and membership of RICS or equivalent.
- Exceptional negotiation, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required.
