Role Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Support Assistant to join our team in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. This is a long-term role with the potential for a permanent contract.


About the Role


This position involves supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in both specialist and mainstream settings. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide essential support to students with SEND needs across Key Stages 3 and 4.


Responsibilities



  • SUPPORTING STUDENTS WITH SEND NEEDS:
  • Providing individualized support to students with ASC and MLD
  • Assisting students with daily tasks and routines
  • Helping students develop social and communication skills
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop personalized learning plans

Requirements


The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC and MLD. They should possess excellent communication skills, a patient and empathetic approach, and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
