About the Role

Cathcart Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer to join their Edinburgh-based office on a hybrid basis (2 days per week).

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-renowned company that supplies top-of-the-range hardware and software to leading global consumer brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the testing process for embedded software, leading the end-to-end testing processes.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to create and execute effective testing strategies, ensuring software reliability and industry standards.
  • Conduct and analyse tests throughout the product lifecycle, designing and implementing test plans that cover all necessary aspects.
  • Work closely with software teams to identify and fix issues, acting as the main liaison with other teams.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and RTOS.
  • Experience with MCU/DSP processors.
  • Strong leadership experience, with evidence of delivering on projects.
  • Scripting experience (Python/Shell/C/C++ etc.).
  • Automation experience.
  • Experience with Jira/Gi/CI Systems (e.g. Jenkins) is a bonus.
