Job Title: General Medicine Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Medicine Nurse to join our team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. As a General Medicine Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver skilled nursing care to patients using a systemic approach of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating to ensure a high standard of care.
  • Assist in the admission and discharge processes for patients in line with local procedures.
  • Provide support with effective patient admission pathways and effective discharge planning using clinical skills to agree admissions and manage/report any impact on shifts/workload and staffing levels.
  • Proactively engage with patients, relatives, and carers to seek their views, gain agreement, and keep them informed about their treatment and care.
  • Maintain registration and nursing competencies, and comply with the NMC code of Professional Conduct and related documents.
  • Be flexible to work within other areas or departments to meet the demands of the trust workforce model and changing service needs.
Person Specification:
  • Current 1st-level Registration.
  • Relevant post-registration courses appropriate to the clinical area.
  • Teaching and Assessing certificate.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of supervising others.
  • Experience of working in clinical areas.
  • Experience of delivering patient care.
