About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead the safe decommissioning of the JET facility and non-active systems. The successful candidate will provide technical knowledge and leadership for the programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a make/buy strategy and define specifications for third-party work.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and consistency in the decommissioning programme.
  • Manage and mitigate risk by finding solutions or planning work with costed proposals.
  • Promote UKAEA's mission and values and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Act as a delegate for senior management.
Requirements
  • A track record of delivering innovation in nuclear industries.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a suitable technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing technical plant or process facilities.
  • Line management ability, including performance management, leading, and developing others, and budget management.
  • Health & Safety or Project Management qualifications desirable.
  • Chair internal meetings or committees in support of site business activities.
  • Some UK and international travel may be required.
