Tax Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Assistant Manager to join our national Incentives, Reliefs & Innovations team at KPMG-UnitedKingdom. As a Tax Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in delivering expert advice to clients across various industries, utilizing your technical expertise in R&D tax credits and innovation advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop technical approaches and deliver R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC, taking responsibility for managing the delivery of claims.
* Lead/co-lead meetings with senior technical and financial client stakeholders, providing expert advice on innovation advisory services.
* Write accurate and substantive technical project reports to support R&D tax claims, reviewing technical reports written by junior colleagues.
* Prepare and manage the process for preparing technical and financial elements of client deliverables, including reports documenting work undertaken by clients within complex projects.
* Assist in managing client projects across tax and technical work streams, managing conflicting resourcing requirements between projects.
* Assist in leading projects, solving problems by advising clients on complex legislation.
* Liaise with HMRC specialists to facilitate agreement of R&D claims.
* Establish and maintain strong client relationships, building an internal network within the wider tax practice.
Requirements
* Honours/Post Graduate Degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related technical discipline.
* Significant industry experience in a field of science/technology, or detailed working knowledge of R&D tax legislation.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and communication skills to explain complex concepts to clients.
* Ability to produce high-quality documentation and reports for C-suite stakeholders.
* Project management skills, with ability to manage own workload and delegate to staff members.
