Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our Central Mersey diabetic eye screening programme as a Diabetic Eye Screener.

About the Role

As a screener, you will be responsible for running local clinics for patients and photographing their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. You will work closely with patients, providing empathetic support and guidance throughout the screening process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct eye screenings for patients with diabetic retinopathy
  • Photograph patients' eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy
  • Provide patient education and support throughout the screening process
  • Work collaboratively with the screening team to ensure efficient and effective screening operations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and complete necessary training
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
  • A full driving licence and your own transport
