The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Wood, a leading consultancy in the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of various projects, from early conceptual design to contract and construction management.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing designs, studies, reports, and drawings. You will also lead the electrical package design and engage with clients and other stakeholders.

Expected:

  • Experience of technical schedules for EPC/BOP contracts and Turbine Supply Agreements
  • Knowledge of standards including Grid Code, Engineering recommendations, IEC, and BS technical standards
  • Technical knowledge of electrical networks and their components (switchgear, cables, OHLs, transformers, and reactive compensation equipment)
  • Experience within renewable generation, including wind and solar PV technologies
  • Experience with SCADA, industrial control, and communication systems and standards
  • Experience with protection and control equipment requirements associated with transmission, distribution, and renewable projects

Desirable:

  • Experience of development or operation of renewable energy projects, or transferable experience from power, offshore, or other relevant industries
  • Relevant design, manufacturing, construction, or operational experience
  • Commercial understanding and experience
  • Relevant training in project and safety management
  • Knowledge of forms of contract and/or experience in contract negotiations
