Resource Planning Specialist

As a Resource Planning Specialist at FirstGroup, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of train services across the Wessex region. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and resource train crews to meet service requirements, while also implementing contingency plans in the event of disruptions.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement resource plans to meet service requirements, ensuring optimal utilization of train crews.
- Collaborate with the Rail Operations Centre (ROC) team to implement contingency plans and shuttle services during disruptions.
- Provide on-shift management of Duty Resource Managers, ensuring they work to the highest standards and adhere to company values and behaviors.
- Monitor and analyze data on train crew resourcing, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in the creation and compilation of long-term service contingency plans, ensuring regular efficiency reviews are conducted.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire managers and staff.
- Knowledge and experience of traincrew terms and conditions, fatigue, and risk index parameters within a railway environment.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and able to identify significant trends.
- IT knowledge of ATOS Crewplan suite, Sheila, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Good academic standard, with a professional certificate in management desirable.
