Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust in Bethnal Green, London.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position available immediately. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have speech and language difficulties, providing one-on-one and small group support to help them engage with classroom activities and learning tasks.
You will assist in implementing tailored learning plans designed to address the specific communication needs of students, working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt resources and strategies that support speech and language development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff on a regular basis, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment that helps students build their confidence in communication and social interactions.
You will also assist in managing any behavioural challenges related to communication difficulties using appropriate intervention strategies.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children with speech and language difficulties is highly desirable.
- Knowledge or experience in speech and language therapy or related interventions is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers and SEN staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- A clear DBS check.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth within the school.
The estimated salary range is based on the National Living Wage in the UK, taking into account the location, job requirements, and industry standards.
