About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse to join our Emergency Care Department in Morriston Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide strong leadership, effective team management, and staff development, acting as a professional role model to your team in delivering the highest standards of patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Matron with workforce management, quality assurance, improving patient experience, safeguarding vulnerable people, ensuring infection, prevention and control, and workforce education.
  • Provide compassionate, skilled, and expert leadership to support the unit, whilst possessing the ability to innovate, motivate others, and deliver sustained improvements.
  • Take part in and lead various work streams, and be jointly responsible for a team of registered nurses and healthcare support workers.
  • Manage the day-to-day functioning of the department, dealing with issues relating to sickness/absence, rostering, and staff well-being.

Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Pertinent post-grad diploma or equivalent development/experience.
  • IQT Bronze.
  • Recognised management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience e.g. PADR, sickness and absence management.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Masters Degree.
