Management Accountant Opportunity

Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time permanent basis.

About the Role

As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in providing an effective financial reporting and control function. You will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting, preparing monthly management accounts, financial forecasts, and the annual budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of budgets, cash-flow reports, and re-forecasts
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including variance reports
  • Control of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Calculation of accruals and prepayments for monthly and year-end accounts and posting month-end journals
  • Assist with the year-end accounting process
  • Prepare the monthly and year-end payroll (including pensions) in conjunction with the external payroll bureau
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and calculate depreciation in line with accounting policy
  • Reconciliation and posting of control accounts including petty cash, credit card, and catering
  • Help ensure the integrity of the nominal ledger and that purchase orders and invoices have been correctly coded
  • Check all utilities and services invoicing and provide consumption data
Requirements
  • AAT qualified (or studying towards accounting qualification)
  • Experience in management and financial accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting standards
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organized with excellent time management skills
