Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Expleo Engineering UK Limited.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key dimensional variation across the manufacturing product, identifying key characteristics that require control, and analyzing pertinent historical manufacturing capability data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and manage key dimensional variation across the manufacturing product.
  • Identify key characteristics that require control.
  • Analyze pertinent historical manufacturing capability data.
  • Assess tolerances, datums, and GD&T to create an understanding of the assembly relationships and build-up of parts that contribute to the variation in the boat's key characteristics.
  • Create quality plans to control the previously identified key parts and features.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering Planning to establish hold points in the detail process plans.
  • Identify and validate metrology.
  • Create pictorial measurement plans and insert them into the detailed plannings for Operations to execute.
  • Establish standard inspection processes and procedures, to ensure inspection data is robust and valid.
  • Work closely with Operations to manage key product features throughout the build process, providing dimensional management build-line support where necessary.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a STEM discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Basic understanding of dimensional measurement systems and principles.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and/or CAD models.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
