Accounts Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accounts Clerk to join our team at the University of Cambridge. As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for a range of financial duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, and suppliers, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the accounts team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • GCSE English and Maths, Grade 4 or 5 (Grade C) or above.
  • AAT Intermediate or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial software packages.
