We are seeking an exceptional Senior Counsel to join our forward-thinking Privacy Team at Trustpilot, a company transforming trust online. As a key member of the Trust & Transparency function, you will play a lead role in our privacy programme and drive solutions for complex problems at the cutting edge of online trust, privacy, AI, and technology-related legal issues.

You will report to our Director of Privacy and work closely with various stakeholders across all levels and departments, including our Data Protection Officer, Chief Trust Officer, CISO, and Chief Data Officer.

  • Ensure our product, services, and data processing activities align with key privacy requirements across markets, focusing on GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, CCPA, and emerging laws.
  • Drive high-profile initiatives across the business, supporting stakeholders on privacy and AI-related legal issues and making pragmatic decisions balancing business needs against international law.
  • Monitor and evaluate proposed legislation, recommending changes for compliance.
  • Draft and negotiate privacy provisions in contracts, maintain policies, procedures, and records of processing activities.
  • Get involved in AI Governance, building Trustpilot's strategy around AI use and working with AI development teams.
  • Assist in investigating, assessing, and responding to data incidents, preparing notices to affected data subjects and authorities.
  • Help operationalise privacy, introducing automated solutions to improve privacy ticket management and data record keeping.
  • Measure privacy maturity and compliance, reporting metrics and risks to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver privacy & AI training, improving awareness throughout the organisation.
  • Respond to regulatory investigations and requests for information.
