Technical Manager – Residential – Watford – £65,000 plus package
Job Summary:

A leading developer is seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join their team in Watford. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Land department in the investigation and acquisition of development sites.

The role involves detailed technical investigation, design, and optimisation, ensuring proper liaison with statutory authorities, and producing all necessary documentation and drawings to enable contracts to be procured, let, and a site developed by the production department.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working for a residential developer in a Design/Technical Manager role and possess excellent technical skills, including the ability to negotiate and complete legal agreements with statutory authorities.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the production of technical drawings and designs.
  • Making recommendations for cost-effective optimisation during the pre-planning process.
  • Negotiating and completing legal agreements with statutory authorities.
  • Maintaining programme dates and schedules.

The Technical Manager will also be responsible for identifying and resolving technical design and constructional problems, including:

  • Collating and providing feedback on technical design matters.
  • Maintaining awareness of current material and construction research.

The role requires strong leadership and administrative skills, including the supervision of outside consultants and the maintenance of the company's plan filing and printing system.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working for a residential developer in a Design/Technical Manager role.
  • Excellent technical skills, including the ability to negotiate and complete legal agreements with statutory authorities.
  • Strong leadership and administrative skills.
  • Ability to maintain programme dates and schedules.
