Job Description

The Principal CAD Engineer for Closures and Mechanisms will be responsible for delivering technical solutions to meet cost, quality, and time requirements for assigned tasks and activities.

This role requires a flexible approach, as engineers may be asked to work in non-core module areas as project needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the BIW and Closures Lead Engineer in day-to-day activities.
  • Lead the development of 2D and 3D models for closure and mechanism engineering.
  • Store and release data using TCUA and PLM.
  • Engineering BoM development, cost and weight pack development.
  • PMXU generation, part identification in BoM for unique or carryover status.
  • Design surface (CAS) feasibility FC-checks, provide feasibility advice and guidance.
  • Engineering hard-point generation.
  • Implement recommendations to create a right-first-time release.
  • Participate in cross-functional integration reviews for components and systems.
  • Drive closure of issues and establish cost, weight, and timing impacts.
  • Support module deliverables through to the programme required gateway.
  • Support the generation/development of design rules and guidelines.
