Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Wastewater Treatment Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Sewage Treatment Strategy team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective wastewater treatment strategies for our water recycling centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Wastewater Treatment Strategies: Assist in the development of relevant company investment strategies, including our five-year business plan, to meet our long-term objectives and statutory obligations.
  • Identify and Develop Strategic Opportunities: Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the company, including strategic enhancement plans for our major assets.
  • Liaise with Regulators: Liaise with and influence our environmental regulators to obtain support for mutually beneficial projects.
  • Provide Technical Assessment: Provide technical assessment and risk management advice to ensure compliance with regulatory consents.
  • Manage Site Capacities: Manage the high-level review and confirmation of sites' treatment and hydraulic capacities.
  • Secure Stakeholder Support: Liaise with service providers and Operations teams to secure their support and agreement to investment plans and solutions.
  • Drive Innovative Solutions: Drive and champion innovative solutions to the business and provide input for the preparation of our annual performance review.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree qualified or equivalent, with a chartered engineer or equivalent status.
  • Skills: Analytical and influential oral and written communication skills, excellent knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, and good working knowledge of interfaces with other disciplines.
  • Experience: Good knowledge of the financial and environmental regulatory frameworks affecting planning and investment in water company assets, and experience delivering results through cross-functional working.
